Salisbury Steak – TV Dinner Style – Food Wishes
paleo recipes April 24th. 2022, 9:30amBack when I was a kid, and our parents didn’t have time to make a meal, we’d get to enjoy something called a TV dinner. They weren’t that good, but we didn’t care, since we got to set up our specially designed trays, and eat in front of the screen. One of the most popular TV dinner entrees of that era was the Salisbury steak, and this is my not-too-modern take on that classic dish. Enjoy!

sorry . . . found the narrator's oddly timed raised voice inflections very, Very, VERY distracting . . . resorted to muting the audio and turning on the closed captions; found the content of the video informative/instructive, but please find someone else to do the voice overs . . . I beg you PLEASE

I would forget the cayenne. I don't want to have my taste buds to be exploding!

Made this tonight. Only thing I did different is used some salt free Cajun seasoning in place of the cayenne. Perfect, easy and full of flavor! Thanks for the recipe!

I decided to prep the meat and make the gravy then freeze the Salisbury steaks separate from the mushroom gravy to have for another weekend.
It actually tasted better than the first time I made it.
The Salisbury steaks and mushrooms gravy tasted as though I made it today:).
Yay! It’s another meal that I can prep and freeze to cook another day.

Chef John is the best. Mr. Salsberry probably wouldn't think so, but it doesn't matter. He's dead. 😜

Wet-Dry-Wet, he's dead!

The mushroom gravy is similar to a colonial period mushroom catsup, just thickened with flour.

Comfort food. One of my kids and my favorite next to pot roast.

6:20 Salisbury steak is one of the few steaks I actually prefer to be overcooked. Not just well done.

The old school TV dinner has nothing on this. This is the best (and easiest) Salisbury Steak recipe, it's so good

I used to love his videos but now his narrative cadence just annoys me so much that I can’t watch… He’s a great chef…. but a horrible narrator. Nobody’s perfect. The good narrators landed a spot on FoodTV. At least this guy was able to have a channel here… some people aim low, lol.

I think Salisbury steak is way better with beef and black pepper gravy. So good.
