been working out for a few years now, always had a garbage diet, tons of sugar and soda.

In reality the difference between what meat/carb/fat/veg you eat will maybe change a few % in terms of gains. Definitely not a make or break. Get the right amount of fat and protein and enough carbs and calories and you will make good gains.

Is it actually not good to eat more than 0.5g fat per lb body weight? I would have to eat a lot of carbs and avoid fat a lot more than I normally do. Seems kinda hard especially since I don't currently have a kitchen or a blender or even a freezer.

Okay I'm a little confused. Cause every website I visited gave me another formula to calculate the calories per day and it gives a very different number. You calculate ur BMR with a formula that uses ur weight, age and height then u multiply it by a factor that depends on how often u workout and to that value u add or remove 500 calories depending on if u need to gain or lose weight. I got 2320 cal but with the formula where u just multiply the weight by 15 and add 400 cal I got 1810 which is very different. Can sm1 help with this?
