4:50 I see what you're trying to say here, and it makes sense for many skinny guys, but man… 21? Yeah, of course a guy that skinny should bulk. I'm cutting down to 86 kg, which will be about 12.5-13% bodyfat, and I'm 174 cm in height. To get down to a BMI of 21, I'd have to weigh just under 64 kg. The lightest I've ever been as an adult is 62.9 kg, and I had no muscle, my entire ribcage was showing, and I was a total Sméagol. I would never consider going lighter than 83-84 kg ever again in my life, and I'm not a tall guy. You know what I'm gonna do when I'm done cutting? I'm starting off with a 300 calorie surplus, about 3300 calories, and if I'm not making good progress, I'm bumping it up to 500.

😲I'm surprised! This is actually a pretty good video so far (2:17) I am surprised that you're imparting such good ideas into your viewers' mind like "you should be bulking most of the time" and "do not fear bulking, you are in control of it!". I do think "lean bulking", even when this video was made, is a pretty damaging term a lot of the time, because it gets used in so many different ways. It's good that you put a concrete number to it, but I don't think you can even really track a 150 calorie surplus. It's just too low, especially if you're a novice, which most of your viewers are. 300-500 is what I say. Otherwise, the process is just too slow.

What do you mean by the term natural?

Odlicno

Getting those numbers just right (calories, weeks, months to bulk) is a bitch
Then the correct deficit to not lose most of the muscle

Thank you Mario. I have been extremely afraid of doing any type of bulking. I’ve lose a significant amount of weight following your advice. But now I’m stuck. I’m not losing the body fat around my waist like I want. And I’m not building enough muscle. I see why since this video. It time to start a lean bulk to make more progress. Thanks again.

You can walk 8-10% body fat all year long and be natural. I've done it for years. It's just extremely difficult.

June 10th, 2023 at 22:29
Are you still considered a natural if you are taking whey isolate and/or creatine mono suppliments?
June 10th, 2023 at 23:02
A mean the time is going to pass anyway ,might as well grind for your goal.
June 10th, 2023 at 23:56
It's so true. Every time I have leaned out, I immediately went back to bulking because I felt that I didn't have enough muscle. That's why people who are lean tend to lift 300 BP – 400 Squat – 500 DL. Otherwise, you just don't have enough muscle.
